So every once in a while, like this morning, I get up for work and have a nice large cup of coffee. Then I find out I don’t have to work so I go back to bed. Here’s where it gets interesting. Other than taking a little longer for my caffeine addled brain to go to sleep, it’s the coolest thing ever! My dreams are off the hook insane. For instance, this morning I went to a party where all my high school friends were hanging out - it was pretty awesome. Only problem, I was really really high on something, even though I knew I hadn’t taken anything. I’d say it was akin to being super stoned; I was having trouble forming complete thoughts, my communication skills were even worse than normal, etc.
So I’m hanging out, speaking gibberish to anyone who would listen, when I realize that the beautiful sandwich I had just created was missing from my plate. I scan the room to find a chicken finishing off my ham and cheese. This upsets me enough to go for a trail run. Even though it was summer, I jog up a snow covered hill until I reach a river, which I swim across only to get stranded on top of one of those square metal traps people use to catch whatever they use them for. But then my conscious self caught on to my subconscious self.
The problem with these caffeine dreams is that it’s really easy for them to become lucid dreams, which ruins the fun.
Anyway, I’d recommend that you try it out sometime. I’m wondering if the waking up for a period of time, then the coffee, then the sleep causes this. Cause I don’t have this problem if I just have a cup of coffee before I go to bed for the night.
